Greetings from Warszawa!

I’m going to be travelling through Poland for the next few weeks, which I’m obviously very pleased about, so if there are any days where there is a lack of an article, now you know.

In addition to Warszawa, I plan on visiting Gdańsk, Łódź and Płock for football-related reasons, but I’ll be going to a few other places as well.

I’m taking a bit of inspiration from the author Jonathan Wilson’s fantastic football/travelogue book Behind The Curtain, and I’ll be aiming to write articles about all the football-related activities I’ll be up to on this trip.

As I said, I’ll be trying to still write an article every day whilst I’m here, and hopefully be able to take in a game in one of the places I visit. I’ll also be reading Przegląd Sportowy, reporting on any interesting articles I find in there and doing my best to add something to those discussions.

Speaking of, today there was a particularly interesting discussion piece about who from the Ekstraklasa would be deserving of a place in the World Cup squad, as can be seen in the pictures at the foot of this article. In my opinion, if we’re going by the current form of any of these players, it should be Rafał Wolski.

Other noteworthy stories today include Bartłomiej Drągowski seemingly having full confirmation of his transfer to Spezia, as per Tomasz Włodarczyk. Interesting, considering that the move looked dead in the water after Spezia confirmed the signing of Alex Meret on loan last week, but apparently Drągowski was always the number one choice for the goalkeeper position at Spezia for the upcoming season.

Anyway, I’m off to Nowy Świat for a drink and some pierogi, so I’ll be back tomorrow with another article.
